Statistical Information System Collaboration Community

Terms of use

As the Statistical Information System Collaboration Community (the “Community”) is coordinated by the Statistics and Data Directorate (the “Secretariat“) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the same terms of use for websites apply.

These terms and conditions set out your rights to use material owned solely by the OECD and made available on its website oecd.org and related websites (together, OECD Websites). A website is a related website if it includes a link to these terms and conditions, which can generally be found at the bottom of the webpage.

By accessing an OECD Website and/or using OECD material, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. You also acknowledge that you have read the OECD Privacy Policy and the Disclaimers and agree to their terms.  These terms and conditions, the OECD Privacy Policy and the Disclaimers may be updated at the discretion of the OECD. It is your responsibility to periodically review and account for changes.

Unless otherwise stated, the material is the intellectual property of the OECD and protected by copyright or other similar rights. Some content in the material may be owned by third parties. You are responsible for verifying whether this is the case and, if so, securing the appropriate permissions from these third parties before using the content.

Nothing herein or anywhere in an OECD Website shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the OECD or of any related body or entity, which are specifically reserved.

The terms applying to the following types of content  are set out below:

  1. Written Content
  2. OECD Legal Instruments
  3. Multimedia content (photographs/images, video, podcasts)
  4. Use of Logos
  5. Links to OECD Websites

1. Written Content

Use, copying and distribution – you may use, copy and distribute written content for non-commercial purposes without seeking authorisation from the OECD, provided you cite the original work as follows: [OECD (year), Title, URL].

Adaptation – you may not adapt written content for any purposes without first seeking authorisation from the SIS-CC (OECD). If you adapt the content, you must not use the SIS-CC logo, visual identity or cover image, and must add the following disclaimer along with the attribution to the original work: “This is an adaptation of an original work by the SIS-CC (OECD). The opinions expressed and arguments employed in this adaptation should not be reported as representing the official views of the OECD or of its Member countries”.

Non-commercial translation – you may translate content for non-commercial purposes without seeking authorisation from the SIS-CC (OECD). If you translate the work, you must not use the SIS-CC (OECD) logo, visual identity or cover image, must indicate if any changes were made to the original work, and must add the following disclaimer along with the attribution to the original work: “In the event of any discrepancy between the original work and the translation, only the text of original work shall be considered valid”.

Commercial translation – you must request authorisation to translate content for commercial purposes.  Please send your request to contact[at]siscc.org with the title of the (content)publication and the name and address of the entity requesting authorisation. If granted, authorisation will be free of charge. No exclusive rights will be granted.

Certain content is governed by Creative Commons Licences. You should always check the copyright notice of the written content you wish to use for the applicable terms of use.

2. OECD Legal Instruments

Official texts of OECD Legal Instruments in both OECD official languages (English and French), as well as related information, are made available in the Compendium of OECD Legal Instruments at https://legalinstruments.oecd.org. OECD Legal Instruments may be found elsewhere, including on OECD Websites, but you should always consult the Compendium, as it is the only source of the official and up to date texts and information

2.1 Reproduction

You may reproduce and distribute individual OECD Legal Instruments free of charge and without requesting any permissions, as long as you do not alter them in any way. You may use excerpts of a Legal Instrument, as long as you ensure that the legal nature/integrity of the Instrument is preserved and the excerpt is not used out of context or provides incomplete information or otherwise mislead the reader as to the actual legal nature, scope or content of the Legal Instrument. OECD Legal Instruments may not be sold but may be used in the context of commercial activities such as, for example, consulting or training services.

2.2 Language versions

OECD Legal Instruments are available in the two OECD official languages (English and French). Translations into other languages may be available on the website, but the only official texts remain the English and French versions.

2.3 Translations

You may translate OECD Legal Instruments and related information and documents provided in the Compendium into other languages, as long as the translation is labelled “unofficial translation” and you include the following disclaimer: “This translation has been prepared by [translation author] for informational purpose only and its accuracy cannot be guaranteed by the OECD. The only official versions are the English and French texts available on the OECD website https://legalinstruments.oecd.org.”

We encourage you to provide your translation (PDF format). In doing so, you authorise the SIS-CC (OECD) to modify your translation as it deems fit.

3. Multimedia

Please consult the multimedia product itself for information on the applicable terms and conditions of use. If you wish to use multimedia assets beyond these limits, please send an email to contact(at)siscc.org.

4. Use of Logos

The SIS-CC (OECD) logo is legally protected and may not be used without express written permission, which will only be granted when appropriate and in extremely limited circumstances. Requests for permission to reproduce must be obtained by submitting a request to contact(at)siscc.org

Requests should include the following information:

  • Your full name, mailing address and email address
  • Name and details of the publisher or organisation
  • Language and context of foreseen use
  • Information on how your work will be distributed (e.g. free of charge, sale)
  • Proposed period of use
  • Requested format (e.g. print, digital)
  • Purpose for the request (e.g. whether it is for educational or other similar purposes)
  • Confirmation that if permission to reproduce the emblem is granted, it will only be displayed in a neutral manner.

Permission, where granted, does not imply any sponsorship or endorsement by the SIS-CC (OECD).

5. Links to SIS-CC (OECD) Websites

In order to promote its work, and because linking is an essential aspect of the Internet, the SIS-CC (OECD) encourages you to include hyperlinks to the SIS-CC (OECD) Websites without having to ask prior permission, under the following conditions:

These hyperlinks must not:

  • infringe the OECD’s rights, in particular relating to its name, logo, acronym and intellectual property rights;
  • be used for the promotion of an organisation or company, or of any commercial products or services.

Consequently,

  • if You link to an SIS-CC (OECD) Website, you must refrain from creating frames, or using other visual altering tools, around the SIS-CC (OECD) Website;
  • once a link to an SIS-CC (OECD) Website has been created, it should be tested to ensure that it works and meets the above conditions.

If You have further questions about linking to this Website, e-mail contact(at)siscc.org.
