Call for contributions: SDMx Experts Workshop 2026

This month, we look ahead to key community activities, learning opportunities and user-centred work across the SIS-CC ecosystem, from the SDMx Experts Workshop 2026 call for abstracts to new training on referential metadata and ongoing efforts to make .Stat Suite content easier to access, find and use.

Abstract submission is now open for the SDMx Experts Workshop 2026, taking place from 30 November to 4 December 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye, hosted by the Turkish Statistical Institute. SDMx practitioners are invited to share insights, innovations and real-world expertise across themes including SDMx business case implementation, modelling approaches for SDMx 3.x, SDMx and AI, interoperability with other standards, tools, systems and architecture, and updates from SDMx Working Groups and Task Forces. Abstracts should be submitted by 7 September 2026, with more information on the workshop’s capacity-building activities to be shared soon.

We also recap the first SDMx+AI 2026 primer webinar, held ahead of the MODS-OECD-ADB Global Workshop 2026. The session introduced participants to essential skills for working with the Fusion Metadata Registry and SDMx Lab, helping establish a common technical baseline ahead of the September workshop in Seoul.

This edition also highlights a new .Stat Academy course on SDMx Referential Metadata, launching in September. The course will help learners create, manage and publish referential metadata using the SDMx standard and .Stat Suite, including practical modules on Metadata Structure Definitions, the Global Metadata Concept Scheme, the Data Lifecycle Manager, the Excel Add-in, OECD Data Explorer and the SDMx API.

Finally, we share updates from the User Research Task Force, following recent sessions focused on access and discoverability.
