Where knowledge becomes expertise, and expertise shapes the standard

This month, we highlight upcoming opportunities to build capacity, exchange good practices and shape the future of SDMX.
Registration is open for the SDMX Experts Workshop 2026, taking place from 30 November to 4 December in Ankara, Türkiye. Hosted by the Turkish Statistical Institute, with support from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye and in close collaboration with the eight sponsoring agencies of SDMX, the workshop will bring together experts from national statistical offices, central banks, international organisations and the private sector to share good practices, discuss SDMX 3.0 implementation and contribute to the future evolution of the standard.
We also spotlight the 2026 SDMX+AI capacity-building event, From Standards to Intelligence: Strengthening Capacity for SDMX and AI-Driven Official Statistics, taking place from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Data and Statistics of the Republic of Korea, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Asian Development Bank, the event will focus on strengthening SDMX capacity, improving metadata quality and exploring how Model Context Protocol services can help AI agents access official statistics more reliably.
Finally, we share what’s new in the .Stat Academy, with a focus on .Stat Academy’s SDMX courses. Covering SDMX vocabulary, structural modelling and practical foundations for data producers and managers, the Academy supports both beginners and more experienced practitioners as part of a growing learning community spanning 171 countries.
