October 22, 2021

The hybrid 2021 United Nations World Data Forum, which took place from 3 to 6 October, brought together more than 500 data experts and users in Bern, Switzerland, and over 5,000 participants on the screen from around the world. In-person attendees had the opportunity to meet representatives of the SIS-CC who hosted an eye-catching booth among 15 other exhibitors.

With its presence at the internationally recognised conference, the SIS-CC drew the attention of experts and leaders to the value of the community, its services and tools for the official statistics community.

Eric Anvar, Head of Smart Data at the OECD, and Jonathan Challener, SIS-CC Community Manager, speaking with José Rosero Moncayo, Director of Statistics at FAO.

The Forum was an opportunity to connect to a wide range of organisations, from all over the world, who encounter the challenges that SIS-CC and the .Stat Suite can contribute to solve: build a strong statistical infrastructure based on international standards, invest and innovate jointly in open source solutions that are proven to be sustainable and inclusive in addressing the needs of wealthy and less wealthy organisations.

In summary, achieve the vision for the SIS-CC captured in its raison d’être:

SIS-CC is a reference open source community for official statistics, focusing on product excellence and delivering concrete solutions to common problems through co-investment and co-innovation“.
